Using this will disable loading of canvases, videos, and audio previews. iOS users can enable data saver mode, and soon, Android users will be able to do the same.For now this is true on iOS, and coming soon for Android. Ability to mute indefinitely until restarting the app.For now you need to mute the first card which will play once you scroll to it. Ability to mute the feed before any audio starts, by clicking the mute button top right on the first canvas in the feed.
We’re working on rolling out new features in the coming weeks and months, including increased control over what you hear and see. Audio only starts once you scroll (we are aware of a bug for some users where the audio starts before scrolling, which we are working to fix). The audio should never interrupt anything you are already playing through the Spotify App - if this happens, please let us know. We also wanted to address some of the specific feedback around autoplay and data usage. We can confirm the audio previews in the feed have no impact on recommendations or your listening history. Previews aim to solve a problem we've all encountered: when you're looking for something new to listen to it's really hard to judge a playlist, show or audiobook just by its cover or title. We’ve added the ability to preview your music, podcast and audiobook recommendations, so you can easily listen to your picks before diving in:. There are also shortcuts at the top of your music, podcasts & shows, and audiobooks feeds. Your shortcuts, or most recently played, will still appear at the top of your Home feed, so you can still dive into whatever you were listening to last. Don’t worry-your favorites aren’t going anywhere. The goal is not to spend lots of time scrolling the feed, but choosing a few things to listen to in detail later. We are optimizing our new Home Feed to help you choose what to listen to next - whether that’s diving back into your favorites, listening to a song you haven’t heard for years, or finding something brand new. It strives to give you a more active role in audio discovery and give creators more space to share their work. Overall, our new, dynamic mobile interface is being built for deeper discovery and more meaningful connections between artists and fans. We’ve reviewed all your comments, and wanted to address some of the main points we've heard, and also provide some more context around our new interface.
